Apparently, the Coastal and Marine Environment of Sierra Leone is undergoing various modifications due to man’s activities and natural forces. These deleterious effects undermines the integrity of the coastal and marine environment and its resilience and ability to withstand the pressures exerted on it therefore, its quality depreciates and its potential to perform its traditional functions is weakened and the environment is subsequently degraded.
Thus, in order to protect the Coastal and Marine Environment, the NTB and MFMR are launching this clean up and awareness raising campaign hence calling on all and sundry to stop littering along the coastal lines and Marine Environment.
