She was facing four count charges ranging from the Illegal Sales of Tramadol Tablets and Marijuana without Obtaining Valid License to Possession of Parcels of Leaves Suspected to be Cannabis Sativa, negating Section (48) Section (1) of the Pharmacy and Drug Act of 2001.
The convict had pleaded guilty to the offences charged and also pleaded with the presiding magistrate to tamper justice with mercy when slamming judgment on her.
Magistrate Mohamed Serray Wurie ordered that the convict, Alice Turay should pay the sum of one million leones to the court sub judicial treasury, or face eighteen months imprisonment at the Female Correction Centre on Jomo Kenyatta Road in Freetown.
In similar development, two other accused persons, Ibrahim Dumbuya and Mohamed Sanusi were arraigned before Magistrate Serray Wurie on Friday 6th October 2017 together with the convict and were also charged for the Illegal Possession of Some Parcels of Dry Leaves Suspected to be Cannabis Sativa and Tramadol Tablets, which also negates the Pharmacy and Drug Act of 2001.
They also pleaded guilty to the offences charged.
Delivering his judgment, the presiding magistrate said that he found both accused persons culpable of the offences charged and ordered that both accused persons should pay the sum of five hundred thousand Leones to the court sub judicial treasury, or face five months imprisonment at the Male Correctional Centre on Pademba Road in Freetown capital.
The matter was prosecuted by Inspector Fatu Kamara. Â
