For TV Broadcasters: AYV’s Marian Bangura wins Vickie Remoe Prize

African Young Voices Media Empire TV presenter, producer, and reporter, as well as host of Women’s World, Krio Yus, PTN news and News on Hour Marian Amaria Bangura, has been selected as one of the winners of the 2024 Vickie Remoe Prize for Journalism and New Media.
Last year, she secured a Vickie Remoe Prize for news writing, demonstrating her consistent commitment to journalistic excellence. Her latest win in the TV broadcasting category further solidifies her reputation as a rising star in Sierra Leone’s media landscape.
The Vickie Remoe Prize for Journalism and New Media was founded by Vickie Remoe, a Sierra Leonean award-winning entrepreneur, TV Host, media and marketing consultant and host of the Make Sierra Leone Famous Podcast.
The Vickie Remoe Prize highlights emerging journalists and new media content creators for excellence, originality, and creativity.
The Vickie Remoe Prize, established to honor outstanding media professionals, has become a coveted recognition within the industry. It celebrates those who push boundaries, challenge norms, and elevate the quality of media content. The prize money—Nle 30,000—serves as both a reward and an encouragement for recipients to continue their impactful work.

Marian is passionate about story telling with a keen interest in investigative journalism, human rights and accountability reporting.
Marian holds a Bachelor of Arts with honors degree in Mass Communications which she attained at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. Also she has a certificate In Investigative reporting from the Media Foundation for West Africa (Ghana)
Marian started her Career in journalism with the Campus based Cotton Tree News Radio Mount Aureole, an outlet run by her department.
Most important of all, Marian yarns to see a world where women and girls are safe from all forms of harm, thus she has been embarking on women’s right and advocacy reporting
