Free Leadership Course Ends in S/Leone

 Through Whittlesea Community Leadership Network from Melbourne – Australia, AICLI conducted their first leadership training in Sierra Leone in January 2017 for 61 young people and community aspiring leaders in the Western Rural Area of Freetown. AICLI has also conducted leadership training in 2018 for young people and community leaders in Freetown. 

Jeremiah Oluwole Temple (JOT), a Sierra Leonean, is one of the founding members of AICLI. Jeremiah is currently the Director and Lead Trainer of AICLI. JOT is also a Community Development and Community Leadership Consultant. Jeremiah’s efforts and ideas have helped develop many communities in Australia and many parts of Africa. Participants who attended the AICLI leadership training in Sierra Leone received certificates of participation.

The CEO of Youth Build SL, Robinson Sesay, said, “The positive energy and intelligence of young people need to be liberated and enlisted in solving the problems facing our society. Thus, young people in the Makeni municipality want to rebuild their communities and their lives and will do so if given the opportunity.” One of the participants, who attended the 2018 Freetown Leadership workshop, Mohammed Alim Bangura, said, “I have benefited enormously in developing my leadership skills from this institution through training and I am highly recommending community leaders and aspiring young leaders to take this opportunity to develop their leadership skills.” 

The Director and Lead Trainer of AICLI, Jeremiah Oluwole Temple, said, “I am excited to have been appointed by the Board of Directors of AICLI to facilitate the 2019 leadership training in Sierra Leone.
