Before now, the SLPP has been occupying a rented property on the same Hangha road as district office, a place they have occupied for years past even when they were in power from 1996 to 2007.
It was revealed that on 4th August 2018, Joseph Samba Keifala together with former Councilor Anthony Fornie led a delegation of SLPP members with documents titled: ‘Valuation of property of Mr. Bockarie Foh situated at No. 143 Hangha Road, Kenema in the Eastern Province of the Republic of Sierra Leone’, submitted by Kenlice General Services, Licensed Auctioneer at 28 Sithorpe street 7(1) Blackhall road in Freetown with the pretext of evicting the APC from occupying the structure with immediate effect.
According to some APC party members who were residing at the office, the buyer gave them less than a week to vacate the property.
However, painting of the structure to the colours of the SLPP (Green and White) has been done on Tuesday 7th August, 2018 but both J.S Keifala and District Chairman of the APC Prince Kamara have failed to comment.
According to one Prince Kamara, he can only grant an interview on the issue when he gets instructions from his party’s national executive but was quick to affirm that the party has secured another office space provided by Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo within the region.
Former mayor on the other hand promised to talk on the issue on his return from the capital Freetown.
