At the workshop held at the Council of Churches Sierra Leone Hall in Freetown, the Programme Officer, Campaign for Good Governance, Sahr Kendema said the engagement was a way of enhancing the understanding of community women on the recovery priorities and emphasized that the engagement would also enabled community women to achieve the presidential recovery priorities, especially the health, water, social protection and education package in the aforementioned priorities.

“They are not doctors that will do deep research, they are just here to engage the group on behalf of their community to put forward their concern just as what they requested for.” Sahr Kendema said.

Executive Director, Campaign for Good Governance, Valnora Edwin highlighted the contributions of women in the development of this nation and the role they could play in achieving the presidential recovery priorities, as she cited the impact of women in the fight against the Ebola.

Head of Governance, Trocaire, Mary Foday, pointed out the role of Trocaire in empowering women in the society, especially in the area of civic rights and responsibilities, and that the organization had always been committed to support women, and that she was always being happy to promote the concerns of women.

District Coordinator, Presidential Delivery Team, Leah Suma summarized the roles and responsibilities of the team and the essence of the partnership with the women, and furthered that the success of the President Delivery Priorities would only considered successful based on the understanding people have, in order to access the priorities package.
