Minister of Transport and Aviation, Leonard Balogun Koroma assured the people that the project will commence soon, adding that China happened to be the main source of the project and that there are established criteria and protocols to observed before the commencement of the project.
“this project will start before the end of this year and I want to assure you that the airport project is still alive, because the project funds is already available, as government we are working on the required bureaucracies in order for the project to commence” Koroma added.
He furthered that the food items provided was not from the project money but from the government funds, he maintained that the venture was to support the people since their farms have been taken from them for development purpose. He reiterated that the project will foster job opportunity of the project.
Mamamah Airport Project Director, Morlai Buya Kamara called on the people to exercise patient, owing to the fact that the project will soon be realized and that the provided food items was to help the people with their subsistence.
Regent Chief, Kagbala Village Santigie Sesay said they will be pleased to witness the commencement of the project and pointed out that it would create job opportunity for them and also boost the economic status of the surrounding villages, in that part of the country.
He mentioned that the airport will register everlasting employment opportunity for their community inhabitants.
