Port Loko District is one of the hardest hit districts in the Northern Region since the Ebola outbreak started in the country and efforts by the Government need the support of others for successful containment of the virus.
The minister’s contribution to the fight against Ebola, according to residents of Port Loko, is assurance to the people of the district that he cares for them.
“His interventions are not new to us and we are grateful for his support to stop Ebola in our district,” said Musa Bangura, a resident of Port Loko.
The minister said he is greatly alarmed at the nature of the spread of Ebola and that the fight to stop and contain it is every ones business.
He is also said to have called upon others to help in every way possible to stop Ebola in the country.
The building was offered by the Red Cross Society to the people of Port Loko district and it is expected that when in full operation, there will be control in the rate of the spread of the virus in the district.
The challenge though, according to some residents, is people’s acceptance to report early for treatment.
“Most of our people over the years have relied to traditional doctors,” Bangura said, adding that efforts must also be made to reach out to every village in the district.
