President Bio Breaks Silence
His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio has broken his long silence on why prices of goods and commodities continue to increase in Sierra Leone.
He blamed it on COVID-19 pandemic which he said has impacted the prices of basic commodities in Sierra Leone.
The president made this disclosure during an interview with the China Global Television Network (CGTN).
It is no secret that prices of goods and commodities in Sierra Leone continue to rise every day. Price of a bag of rice or a bag of cement is a typical example which represents the shoot up of prices of goods in the country.
However, some believed that the increase in the prices of goods in the country did not start with the spread of COVID-19, but that the pandemic only worsened the condition.
Largely, people blame the ugly development on the notion that business people continue to increase prices of goods in the country as a result of the price of dollars which continues to go high.
