One of the cases adjudicated by Justice Sengu Koroma was a legal battle between formers workers of the Freetown City Council Waste Management company , in which lawyer Beouku Betts who represented the defendants argued that the management of Freetown City Council should be included in the ongoing matter before the court.
The substantive matter is between the Sierra Leone Service Workers Union and the Chief Administrator of the Freetown City Council but that counsel for the plaintiff applicants submitted for the Freetown City Council to be in the same court action instituted against the Chief Administrator, because as he puts it, it the government that would shoulder the payments to the plaintiff applicants, if judgment is delivered in his favor.
According to lawyer Betts, Freetown City Council was actual minority stakeholders of the waste management company was putting his files together to institute court action against the Freetown City Council.
He further argued that government was part of waste management company arrangement, and was going to inform officials of the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, about the legal tussle between Chief Administrator of Freetown City Council and his clients.
The plaintiff applicants were represented by lawyer Francis Garba and Justice Sengu Koroma adjourned the matter to Wednesday 27 July 2017.
