He added that he had been preparing his handing over notes for the past three months on what they did as a ministry because he was appointed three month ago and so there was not much, adding that during his tenure it was all about politicking and to make plastic changes in the security sector because security is the bedrock of any nation’s progress and prosperity.
“The security system of March 7th during and after the elections was very fabulous just that the Kenema incident was very unfortunate but the time to review the error of Kenema is for us not to repeat it,” Major Rtd. Sengu Koroma told AYV.
The Internal Affairs Ministry according to Major Retired Sengu Koroma is a very powerful ministry that comprises of seven institutions including the Police, Fire Force and the Correctional Service Department as well as being a mediator between and police and civilians across the country.
He also noted that he has reformed the NRS to become the National Civil Registration Secretariat and that they have been working establishing the office for all the security sectors to work as one unit as it used to be in the colonial era.
“I stood down for President Maada Bio during the 2011 convention because I believed in him and he was the fittest person to take the mantle of leadership in the SLPP,” the Minister said.
“I am always ready and willing to work for any government that wants me to work for the country,” he said.
