First convict, Sheik Mohamed Fofanah was charged with the offences of Wounding and Assault, Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm, contrary to Section (20) of the Offences against the Person Act of 1816. The other two convicts, Baimba Mohamed Kallon and Dauda Kamara were each charged with the offence of Assault Occasioning Grievous Bodily Harm, contrary to law.
According the evidence adduced during the trial, convict Sheik Mohamed Fofanah pelted a brick on the face of the complainant, Henry Jakka on 24 June 2014 within the Freetown judicial district of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
Before delivering judgment on the three convicts, the presiding judge, Hon. Justice Sam Margai intimated the well-attended court that the prosecution proved its case beyond all reasonable doubt and holds the convicts culpable of the charges preferred against them.
The State was represented by Barrister A.G.M Bockarie and J.P Kamara from the Law Officers’ Department on Lamina Sankoh Street in Freetown. The three convicts, Sheik Mohamed Fofanah, Baimba Mohamed Kallon and Dauda Kamara were defended by Lawyer E.T Koroma.
