He was speaking to Awoko in an exclusive interview in his High Court Chamber in Kenema city.
He said his acceptance of his assignment and posting to the Kenema High Court was done in good faith and wished to dispense justice for all in similar good faith.
He lamented on the dysfunctional state of the high court in Kenema resulting in huge backlog of cases and the delay in the delivery of justice.
He recalled the intervention of the Special Court in August of last year which he disclosed he was part of to clean up the stable of huge case backlogs that have accumulated over the years.
He described Kenema city as a lawless society pointing to the fact that in just few months of his arrival, 124 case files are still pending for which the court cannot trace neither the accused persons or their sorties. He promised to put mechanism in place to forestall such intransigence within the judicial system in the district.
“By the time I am through with my mechanism, there will be no loop hole for criminals to evade justice in the Kenema judicial system,” he pointed out and assured that he will work assiduously towards bringing evaders back to book.
He recalled that since his arrival in Kenema, he has observed that matters of sexual penetration is the commonest crime in the district superseding all other matters, to be followed by robbery with aggravation, violence and simple robbery and then kindred offences that include burglary, larceny and store breaking.
