The Medical Superintendent of the Serra Leone Correctional Service, Dr. Tamba T. Lebbie, has on 11th November, 2021 written a letter to the Master and Registrar of the Sierra Leone Judiciary informing about the medical status of Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray in detention.

According to the medical superintendent, Kamarainba is currently suffering from Nervousness, Acute Lower Back Pain and Frequent Micturition and seems to exhibit some Psychological Trauma.

He said the inmate’s vitals are as follows: Blood Pressure 160/120mmhg, Temperature 36oc, Respiration 24 bpm and Pulse 72 bpm.

The Doctor said Kamarainba is currently unable to attend court due to the above symptoms, while requesting the opinion of other doctors from Ministry of Health and Sanitation to re-examine him and forward findings for clarity.

Speaking to the Head of Media at the Sierra Leone Judiciary, Elkass Sannoh last evening on Kamarainba’s status according to the medical superintendent, he said the court has invited the latter to report to the court and make the inmate’s case in person.

According to him, it is hard for the court to actually confirm whether the medical report is authentic and actually coming from the Medical Superintendent of the Serra Leone Correctional Service.

Elkass confirmed that ten week since he was granted bail, Kamarainba has refused to show up in court to continue the matter but instead keep on giving excuses. He said is he is to meet his bail condition today he will be left to go home.
