KLM resurrects in Salone

The inauguration of the Amsterdam route of KLM will reduce flying time each way, as well as facilitate great connection opportunities for worldwide destinations.

 

Speaking just after the landing of the KLM flight, General Manager of the Sierra Leone Airports Authority, Idriss Nabie Fofanah stated that 20 years ago the management of KLM stop the progress of their operations as a result of many concerns ranging from a dilapidating runway, non international standard airport among others. As he went further to expressed delight over its resumption, Idriss described the inauguration of KLM operations as a facelift of the country’s airport meeting international standard, with an improved runway, trained and qualified security personnel, highly standard security equipment among others.

 

Minister of Transport and Aviation, Leonard Balogun Koroma said as a government, they are pleased that KLM had returned in the country, to operate professionally as they used to.  The minister promised that as a government they will foster an enabling environment for both the consumers as well as KLM, in order to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of their operations in the country. As he explained that plans are in progress to revive the operations of other flights in the country.

 

Air France KLM Regional Director for West Africa, Philleppe Barbieri said they are happy being back in the country, especially the African continent which he described as a continent that they enjoy working on. He promised quality services at all time by his group.

 

The Sierra Leone Airports Autority, currently swanky of having seven Airlines flying in and out of Freetown with the resumption of KLM which they believed was a big operator in the aviation sector, and an airport meeting international standards.
