Honorable Marrah made this statement while contributing to the ongoing debate of the 2016 budget presented by the Minister of Finance and Economic Development Dr. Kelefala Marrah .He maintained that his constituency had continued to suffer in terms of education. This he noted was because schools within his constituency were not easily accessible due to the bad road condition.
The MP added that there was only one junior secondary school in his constituency and that the constituency was about one hundred miles away from the district headquarter town. He explained the long walking distance between and among schools within the constituency had contributed to the prevailing teenage pregnancy in that part of the country. He called on the ministry of education to consider Koinadugu in term of improving the education sector.
He pointed out that though his constituency produce lot of agriculture produce, it was very difficult for the farmers to take their goods to the market because there are no good roads in Kurbola and Neyar chiefdoms “ We have been neglected in that part of Koinadugu district and now call on government to focus their development plan in constituent 45”
He said government should allocates more to the tourism ministry in order to attract tourist and that Koinadugu has one of the best mountain within the sub-region that can attract tourist, but noted that there was a dire need for development in that part of the country.
