The bail bond indicated that the alleged sex offender should produce two sureties in like sum, and that the sureties should be residents in the Bureh Town community, where the alleged offence is said to have been committed.
According to Particulars of Offence, the accused person allegedly committed the offence of Sexual Penetration of a Child under the age of eighteen years old, on 22nd February 2018 within the Freetown Judicial District in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
The Charge Sheet further indicated that the said offence contravenes Section (19) of the Sexual Offences Act No. (12) of 2012 of the laws of Sierra Leone.
When the charge was put to the alleged child sex offender, Alusine Bangura, he pleaded not guilty.
The adjudicating Judge, Hon. Reginald Fynn later ordered that the accused person be kept at the Male Correction Centre at Pademba Road, and assigned the matter to Hon. Justice John Bosco Allieu for further trail.
The State was represented by Barrister M. Lansana and V. E. A. Kabbia, whiles the alleged child sex offender, Alusine Bangura was defended by Lawyer Onikeh Spencer- Coker and Sonia Bobanie Browne from the Legal Aid Board.
In a separate development, Hon. Justice John Bosco Alliue presiding over High Court No. 2 at Siaka Steven Street in Freetown has expressed disappointment over the non appearance of some jurors to proceed with capital offences under adjudication.
He said that there is a deadlock of capital offences which the court could not proceed with, adding that the court could not work alone in adjudicating matters of such nature.
“I am ready to proceed with matters assigned to my court, but I am constrained to do so, due to the continuous absence of jurors including prosecution witness or witnesses,” Hon. Justice Allieu sated.
