Speaking at press conference held on Monday 16 January 2017 in Freetown, Mr. Hassanyeh said they had amicably resolved the impasse they had at their community level and that they now had a common and mutual understanding among members.

He said their main aims and objective were to seek the interest of Sierra Leoneans, adding that the Lebanese Community was formed to protect all Lebanese residing in Sierra Leone and to enable them identify their roles and responsibility in society.

“There is no more problem among us and we will like journalists to report accurately,” he advised, adding that they were going to award scholarships to students as part of their corporate social responsibility and to build a brighter Sierra Leone.

Other members of the community also expressed gratitude and sincere appreciation to the government and people of Sierra Leone for their unique hospitality. They further promised to do more for Sierra Leone in terms of creating more investments in the country.
