This visit was also to reaffirm the government’s commitment to establishing good working environment between employers and employees to create economic growth in the country.
Adekunle Milton King said to the management of LEOCEM that the Government of Sierra Leone is finalizing the review and upgrading of the country’s Labor laws to international standard. He disclosed that employers should respect their employees and treat them as important factors in the company.
Stefano Gallin who is the Managing Director of LEOCEM said that being a reputable international company they are in compliance with NASSIT obligations for their workers. He disclosed that the company is committed to improving the safety and welfare of their employees.
The Minister of Labor and Social Security, Adekunle Milton King commended the management of LEOCEM for upholding safety standards.
The minister, accompanied by his officials were taken on a tour of the factory to see for themselves how workers were dressed and treated and the facilities available for their comfort at work.
