The Operations Team at the Lumley Police Division has launched an operation code-named ‘Kush Must Go’, raided the New Life City on Wilkinson Road and arrested twelve suspects with various offences.
Information Officer at the Lumley Police Division, PC Mansaray M.A – 19800 said at 10:00 hours under the leadership of Local Unit Commander (LUC) Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abdul Moijueh, launched the operation Kush Must Go.
He said led by Operations Officer, Assistant Superintendent, Francis M. Tommy the Team conducted a raid on drug dealers at New Life City off Wilkinson road Lumley and arrest twelve suspects with offences including Unlawful Assembly, Throwing Missile and Loitering with Intents.
He said all the arrested suspects are from different addresses within the Lumley municipality.
Chief Pa Alimamy Bangura, a community stakeholder told the Team that New Life City has become the most dangerous community in Lumley, where all sorts of unscrupulous boys smoking Kush are found.
He said the bad boys have been involved in perpetrating other related offences that disturb the peace of the community.
During the operation, community stakeholders complimented the good work of the Sierra Leone Police and also the youth of the community for mobilised to assist the police in conducting the arrest of the drug dealers.
The matter has been referred to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigations.
