Chief Kebbe Conteh, Section Chief for Kamayama while expressing joy for Dr. Abboud’s good gesture recounted that exactly eleven years ago, residents of these communities approached Dr. Abboud, appealing for his support to construct the bridge which was in a very dilapidated form.

Before Dr. Abboud’s intervention, the chief went on, the bridge was contributing to frequent road crashed involving pedestrians, vehicles and motorbikes crossing through.

He said when they approached Dr. Abboud, he wasted no time to come to their rescue and constructed a standard bridge, well concrete chairs, flower pots and installed solar lights for them.

He went on that since then, every year, Dr. Abboud has not allowed them to remind him to rehabilitate the facilities.

Chief Conteh said the good handwork of Dr. Abboud has saved several lives and has made access easier to and from these communities.

In conclusion, the traditional leader told his audience that it was because they wanted to complement Dr. Abboud’s good work that they in the respective communities decide to name the bridge he constructed after him.

For his part, Dr. Adonis Abboud expressed joy that even after eleven years, the residents were still able to maintain the bridge and complementing facilities he invested in.

However, he appealed to residents in these communities, especially those living on the hills, to desist from using the streams and drainages as dustbin. This according to him is bad hygiene and a recipe to cause flood when it rains.

Dr. Abboud also informed that he is also working on similar projects at Dwarzark and Kaningo, where according to him, he has completed feasibility studies and now seeking funds to commence work.

He thanked and congratulated the chief and community people for supporting his projects and providing the leadership platform for him to help develop the communities.
