Mayor engages school authorities

Mayor Gibson said the commission had received over one thousand complaints from parents and that he thought it was appropriate to tackle and terminate all forms of  school irregularities.

He admonished all teachers and school stakeholders to desist from corruption, where they were involved in it. 

Deputy director of education and outreach in the ACC, Patrick Sandi, called on school authorities to partner with them to find ways to fight corruption in the educational sector.

Sandi maintained that fighting corruption was one of the president’s recovery plans in the governance pillar and that together they could overcome corruption in the country.

He added: “We are working with the presidential delivery team to see how we can address corruption under the governance pillar and focus on the school feeding project.”

Speaking on behalf of principals, head teachers and teachers, Florence Davies, acting principal of Freetown Secondary School for Girls highlighted some of the challenges they were facing in working with pupils in schools.
