The project seeks to add value to the products of Banana Island through the construction of three chalets, construction of arts and crafts centre, construction of nature trails, acquisition of two hand pumps and the rehabilitation of one dug well at Dublin.

The project also provides improved access to and from the island and facilitation of sea excursion through the provision of an outboard engine and twenty life jackets.

It also adds value to the island’s beautification by constructing nature trails that connect to the historical and cultural sites of the island.

In a joint monitoring exercise by the Ministry and the Board to ascertain the level and pace of the ongoing construction as it nears completion, the Admin and Human Resource Manager of the National Tourist Board, Cyrillia Wilson commended the contractors and more especially the community people for ensuring that the construction is on the right track.

She called on them to own the project and double their efforts in completing the project on time.
