Speaking during the training the Executive Director of Fisheries Kadijatu Jalloh said it is important for staff to know the importance of sensitive documents in the ministry. She added that if staff does not have records the Commission of Inquiry could query them for failing to produce documents if there is a problem in the ministry. She said that the Permanent Secretary may come and go, but that if the records are there, any secretary would not find it difficult to trace documents in the ministry.

She stated that it is the responsibility of all staff to treat documents with care and to take every single record in detail. She maintained that the training is important to all senior and especially new staff as it would help them become familiar with details, documents and recordkeeping at the ministry.

Emma Kowa Jalloh who is the Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources said the training is important for all staff because it would help them know about documents and the details contained therein. She further disclosed that the ICT department would store every document in a computer system that would help staff trace records more efficiently.

She stated that proper record management should be the underlining word for every staff in the ministry; adding that such training is to help staff know more about what they already know.
