Miss Sierra Leone departs for Miss World tomorrow

Miss Sierra Leone 2023, Queen Daizy Princess Mujeh Abdulai is all set depart the shores of Freetown tomorrow 17th February, 2024 to make the country proud at the global stage of Miss World 2024, which will be the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant.

Chairman of Miss Sierra Leone Limited, Dr. Adonis Abboud said following the success of the Miss Sierra Leone 2023 beauty pageant held at the Bintumani Conference Centre, Aberdeen, where Daizy Princess Mujeh Abdulai was crowned as the new queen in October 2023 and that she is all set to represent Sierra Leone at the global stage of the Miss World Beauty Pageant.

He said Daizy is scheduled to depart for India on 17th February, 2024, where she will compete against contestants from 120 countries, adding that the competition will span three weeks, during which all participants will be hosted in New Delhi for the initial stages before proceeding to Mumbai for the finals, scheduled to take place on 9th March, 2024.

Dr. Abboud said: “In light of this momentous occasion, Miss Sierra Leone Limited calls upon all Sierra Leoneans to rally behind their queen and show their support. Daizy Princess Mujeh Abdulai is currently undergoing intensive preparations at a boot camp in anticipation of the Miss World pageant.

“Part of the Miss World competition includes the Multimedia Challenge, where the winner is determined through various digital platforms. Supporters are encouraged to participate by downloading the MobStar app from the Play Store, creating a profile, and voting for Daizy Princess Mujeh Abdulai by liking her pictures and sharing the message with others.

“Additionally, followers can engage with her personal pages on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Twitter, and are urged to like, comment, and share her content. Chairman Dr. Abboud concluded that established in 2001, Miss Sierra Leone Limited has been instrumental in revolutionising the beauty pageant industry in Sierra Leone, organising successful events and holding the exclusive rights to manage both the Miss Sierra Leone National Beauty Pageant and the Miss World franchise in the country.

Daisy Princess Mujeh Abdulai, is a twenty-one-year-old native of Gbangbaia Danville village in Moyamba district. Her educational journey began at Zenith International Academy in Bo, where she completed her primary education.

This was followed by secondary schooling at the renowned Annie Walsh Memorial School. She is currently pursuing an honours degree in Chemistry at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. She is aspiring to become Sierra Leone’s first fragrance chemist, when she completes her degree.

Her journey in beauty pageants commenced at the age of eight when she was crowned Miss Fredmatt 2010. Over the years, she has achieved notable titles, including Miss Valentine 2020, Miss New England Ville 2020, Miss Diamond Empire 2021, Miss Rokel 2021, Miss New England Ville 2022, Miss Freetown 2022 and she now proudly holds the title of Miss Sierra Leone 2023.

In addition to her achievements, she serves as the Vice President of the Chemistry Society at Fourah Bay College, USL where she has dedicated her time to fostering a passion for chemistry among her peers and other students.

Beyond academics and pageantry, she finds joy in connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and listening and learning from their experiences. She has a passion for teaching, singing, dancing, writing, and the intricate art of perfumery. Social responsibility, particularly in the area of education, also holds a special place in her heart.

She is intentional about self-knowledge and self-awareness which has been a pivotal part in building her confidence to pursue her passions and dreams. She firmly believes that no dream is too small, too big, invalid, or unachievable.

As a fearless woman, her values centre around fair justice, civility, tolerance, creativity, and integrity. These principles guide her in her pursuit of making a positive impact in her local community and the world around her.
