“Besides, there is currently no functional ambulance in the whole district to convey patients. As if all that is not enough, casual workers have gone five months without incentives” Mr. Foday, adding; “We are, therefore, please urging the government, through the Finance Ministry, to speedily disburse funds to the Council to bring this unbearable situation to a stop.

The Civil Society in Moyamba has expressed grave concern over the non-availability of Government funds to the Moyamba District Council for the 2018 financial year.

This was according to the Public Relations Officer for the Moyamba Civil Society, Gerald Anthony Foday who said the situation has affected the health sector greatly; for the past two weeks, there has been no fuel stock with the District Health Medical Team (DHMT) to carry out administrative functions.
