The road is the main link to a number of communities in that part of Freetown and when completed it would also link places like Gloucester and surrounding villages in the western urban and rural areas.

Moyiba like any other deprived community according to research has a population of over 30, 000 residents and with the construction of this main road, it would help enable the residents to have easier access to water supply and in case of emergency like fire, it would allow easy access to address emergency issues in that part of the community.

According to Victor Momoh a community activist  even the structure of the schools are not up to standard because of the bad road, adding that they have been crying for over 10 years now about the terrible condition of this road.

Member of Parliament, Hon. Momoh Kamara (APC) representing Constituency 120 which includes Moyiba, said the assessment of the road by SLRA engineers has raised their hope. He added that as a community they are ready to support the construction of this road by galvanizing support in the form of labor and youth participation. He expressed his thanks and gratitude to the SLRA Director General for remembering Moyiba community in his road development plan. He promised his fullest cooperation. He used the opportunity to prevail on his constituents to refrain from politics as campaign period is over. He appealed to all residents to embrace this development project as it is not for one party but for the people of Moyiba and by extension the people of Sierra Leone.

He added that the poor state of the road is depriving the residents of their livelihood and stopping interested people from investing in the community.
