The son of the former opposition Member of Parliament was due to appear in front of Magistrate Komba Kamanda on Monday 19th September 2016 to answer to charges of conspiracy and incitement against the government.
He was first questioned, arrested and detained at the maximum Pademba Road Prison on Monday 5th September 2016 after performing a song titled corruption the previous evening.
Ruling party and government operatives believe the song that spoke of rampant corruption in the government was secretly pioneered by the opposition, and Sylvester remained in prison until he was released on bail one week later on the 12th September 2016.
According to sources, Sylvester performed the self-composed song at a neighborhood beauty pageantry in western rural Sierra Leone and was invited by the police for questioning the next morning.
Family sources at his 8A Bottom Mango residence in Waterloo have disclosed that the musician was forced to confess that he was hired by his dad, who is a former opposition parliamentarian, to record the song.
“His refusal to accept that the Hon. Sylvester K. Sesay was the brain behind the song angered the police officers, thus his arrest and detention,” a family friend who preferred not to be named disclosed.
The authorities are however insisting that the song was a deliberate attempt to demonize the government in the eyes of the public and that the musician must face the full force of the law.
As at time of going to press, the whereabout of Sylvester remains unknown, while the police intensify search efforts to bring him before the law.

Similar fears are being expressed by family members who claim they have not heard from their relative since his disappearance.
Some of his friends are even thinking he has been kidnapped and killed.
