Giving an overview of the workshop, Director of Consumer and Corporate Affairs Abdul Kuyateh said NATCOM was established in 2006 by an Act of Parliament as an independent entity to foster a progressive and enabling environment for the development of the ICT industry in Sierra Leone.
He said NATCOM as a leading ICT regulator in Sub-Sahara Africa also ensures professionalism, respect, integrity, innovation, tariff manipulation, call quality and efficiency, coverage and royalties.
He said NATCOM operates a technology neutral licensing regime and as issued second generation license for mobile telecommunications and international gateway license amongst others.
The workshop targeted radio journalists from the south and eastern regions.
