Mr. Umaru Koroma and a delegation that comprised of the Minister of Finance, Financial Secretary, Bank Governor, NRA Commissioner General and other relevant technical personnel, met with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to discuss potential private investments in the telecoms, insurance and water sectors. The team also engaged the World Bank on the Strategic Outlook of the State Owned Banks for broader financial stability in the economy.
The deliberations produced a country programme for Sierra Leone and a framework for private capital interventions in our public enterprises, leveraging on the World Bank’s technical assistance. The meetings also helped source investment opportunities from the IMF for capacity building and strengthening of the resilience of Sierra Leone’s parastatals.
The team has already returned home.
