NDA Has Fake Members

This disclosure was made at a news conference held at the party’s head offices in Freetown.

The National Democratic Alliance Party was formed in 1995 to serve as a third party or alternative to the two oldest political parties, the Ruling All People’s Congress and the main opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party. Ever since its formation in 1995, the party has never won a single seat in the House of Parliament.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with AYV, National Publicity Secretary of the National Democratic Alliance Party, Sheriff Barrie said that there are people purporting to be members of the NDA and part of its peace builders committee but however called on every Sierra Leoneans not to cooperate with such persons because, according to him, they are not members of the party.

The NDA is a party perceived to be Fullah dominated, however, the reason for the formation of the party, Mr. Barrie said was to give Sierra Leoneans an option to the aged old political parties. He said the NDA will continue to contest elections in Sierra Leone because Sierra Leoneans are in dire need of change which he believes the NDA would provide.
