According to him, the former parliamentarians before the end of their tenure hurriedly and badly approved three agreements with little or no proper debates on them. He said each of those agreements has the tendency to have huge and adverse negative economic implications on the development of the country and will subsequently hinder the youthful population of the country.
MPs for the opposition in the last parliament according to Mr. Keili failed to exercise their constitutional mandates in several debates contrary to what is expected from any responsible parliament in representing their people.
“APC government deliberately and improperly negotiated agreements to benefit a few highly placed individuals in partnerships with foreign nationals with the sole objective of continuing their selfish and corrupt exploitation of our country’s natural resources,’’ he explained, adding; “Sierra Leone, is a country that is rich with natural resources that are enough to benefit it citizenry but the masses still continue to wallow in abject poverty.”
The intending vice president concluded by appealing to the new parliament after 2018 polls to ensure that such unprofessional mistakes are not repeated.
