Dr. Fasomoyin Oluwaseyi, one of the volunteers, said all throughout his stay in Sierra Leone he was excited about everything he did, the places he went and the fun time he had.
He added that he will be ready to come back to Sierra Leone as long as the bi-lateral relationship between the two-sister countries continues to flourish.
The doctor maintained that when he returns to his native Nigeria, he would have to report to the Minister of Health to present his certificate.
He registered the Federal Government of Nigeria’s commitment to supporting Sierra Leone with any medical assistance it would need in the future.
Dr. Iminabo Harrison, who worked at the UBC Mattru-Jong Government Hospital in Bonthe District, explained that during his time spent at the hospital, he faced several challenges including, electricity, transportation and environmental issues but that he was able to surmount those challenges.
He added that there were 88 beds at the hospital which admitted over 750 sick people with different diseases.
Physician Specialist, Dr. Atilola Adeleke, who was attached to the Kailahun Government Hospital, and was later deployed at Connaught Teaching Hospital, added that his duty was to decorate, prevent and rehabilitate the hospital.
He maintained that when he was transferred to the Connaught Teaching Hospital, he taught medical students that were on internship.
The Nigerian doctors that have left are Dr. Fadumiyo Adeola, Dr. Iminabo Harrison, Dr. Fasomoyin Oluwaseyi, Dr. Atilola Adeleke and Dr. Giwa Temidayoo.
