According to the Chairman, the induction would give the brokers firsthand knowledge on the rule and regulations of their agencies, as they were major contributors the development of Sierra Leone’s economy.
He added that the induction process was innovative and a credible, and that a workshop had been organized prior to the induction ceremony.
The vice president of the association of clearing and forwarding Agencies, Ibrahim Bashiru Kamara applauded participants for their determination and commitment for going through the first customs brokers’ induction ceremony , and further urged them to fully implement the rules and regulation recommended by the authority.
He said the customs brokers were professionals like the medical doctors or lawyers, whiles pointing out that the authority was expecting much from customs brokers, having gone through the induction programme.
