Osman Timbo maintained that if Carlton Carew is claiming seven town lot of land he must come forward with the appropriate document with a surveyor to do the allocation in a proper manner. Lawyer Timbo condemned the demolition and stated that the demolition has not been done in the proper way and that it over acres of land that the demolition exercise is covering which is not what Carlton Carew is claiming.
He added “Carlton-Carew has provided a document indicating just seven town lot not the whole community, so in order to have a peaceful community there should be authorities that will ensure the accurate measurement of the plot of land for the sake of peace and tranquility in our community.”
The Paramount Chief for the Thompson Bay Community, PC Pa Alimamy Fofanah said he has been living in the community for forty years ongoing but have never witnessed such land dispute. The situation he said is worrisome as a result of the only health facility in the community has been destroyed during the demolition process.
Pa Alimamy Fofanah explained that they are out to protest peacefully as a way of channeling their concerns to the president of Sierra Leone and that they hoped to see the problem being resolved amicably.
A community nurse Rebecca Swarray said she is unhappy due to the fact that the health facility were hundreds of women seek medical attention has been demolished at the point when a woman was delivering her baby.
