According to Madam Laverley the gift is a result of the mobility challenges faced by handicaps in the country, most especially in the rural area, stating that the social aspect of healthcare is very important to them.

The visit to the Minister according to Madam Laverley is to introduce her organization and the things they are doing and how they can help in collaborating with the ministry to keeping people healthy.

“Mobility is not our focus area, but we are focusing on health as well,” Laverley disclosed, adding that because they want to help disables with mobility and that health issues is the reason why they donated the wheelchairs.

Madam Laverley maintained that they intend to work with the Ministry of Social Welfare in delivering public health, citing that they are willing to work with people that do not have access to healthcare.

In her response Minister Dassama applauded the organization for their initiative and the donation.

The wheelchairs, according to the minister are very important for disables, stating that some of the disables are permanently inside their homes, but that with wheelchairs they can move out of their homes for fresh air and be able to visit their family members.
