Sidique Abou Bakarr Wai-Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Washington D.C, George C. Khoryama-Chairman, Independent Media Commission, Doreen Zephina Faux-Member, Public Service Commission, George C. Taylor-Member, Board of Directors, Bank of Sierra Leone, Ira Nyakeh Amara-Member, Board of Directors, National Minerals Agency and Sulaiman Kaikai-Member, Board of Directors, Sierra Leone Commercial Bank were the presidential nominees approved by Parliament:

Contributing to the debate, the Leader of C4C, Hon. Saa Emerson Lamina said that “in concurrence with Section 61 of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone, I want to congratulate President Bio and his nominees in anticipation of their approval”, having regard for their professionalism and competence. He specifically called for the approval of the nomination of Mr. Wai, whom he referred to as “a nationalist, patriot, and a true philanthropist”.

The Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Chernor R.M Bah said that “I do not know Mr. Wai before this time”, whilst referring to his resume’ as rich when endorsing his nomination. He described him as a “nationalist who cuts across political boundaries”.

The Leader of Government Business, Hon. Sidie M. Tunis urged the nominees to do their very best in executing their duties, whilst encouraging them to draw on parliamentary support, especially the Committee on Foreign Affairs, cognizant of vigorous oversight activities with a view to ensure that nominees perform well in their various appointments.
