According to the senior police officers, they will not allow Edmond and team to continue the protest because they have received orders from above not to allow them or any other person to hold protest(s) on anything in the country for now.
In their own words the officers said: “Sir, we get ‘Orders From Above’ say this protest nor for take place.” Translated in English to mean: “Sir, we got ‘Orders From Above’ that this protest must not take place.”
This ugly development which many people who spoke to this reporter have described as a blatant violation of human rights has informed very wide concerns and public calls from Sierra Leoneans and friends of Sierra Leone for the Police Inspector General, Richard Moigbe and boys to explain to the world which of the ‘ABOVEs’ the ‘ORDERs’ came from.
Other people, who were tempted to accuse State House to have issued such Orders to the police, are now calling on the no-nonsense President Julius Maada Bio to act fast and force the Inspector General of Police to get his boys to explain to the world where they got the said ‘Orders’ from.
This according to many people will save State House the embarrassment and national and international condemnation for human rights abuses and violations.
