Sierra Leoneans are headed to the polls today to elect a president and local representatives, with over 3 million registered voters expected to cast their ballots.
Many have shown up at polling stations as early as 5am.
President Dr. Julius Maada Bio of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) is running for a second five-year term. His main rival among the 12 challengers is Dr. Mathew Wilson Samura Kamara of the All People’s Congress (APC) Party.
