Sierra Leone’s Minister of Information and Communications, Mohamed Rahman Swaray has responded to a social media video showing the newly elected All People’s Congress (APC), Secretary General, Lansana Dumbuya making allegations that he was beaten by Presidential Guards on the orders of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio.
He said: “President Julius Maada Bio is a decent leader who believes that every Sierra Leonean has the constitutional right to associate his/herself to any political party”.
“It was very unfortunate on the part of Lansana Dumbuya to put up such allegations against the president. As a leader you should be exhibiting good character of truth instead of putting on a cheap political game like this.” Minister Swaray stated.
APC’s Lansana Dumbuya in a social media video released few days ago alleged that on his way from the APC National Delegates’ Conference last week, at Hill Station, his vehicle was stopped by presidential guards who later tortured him and some other APC Party members and supporters in his company at the time.
Dumbuya alleged that he was clearly told by his torturers that they were working on orders from President Julius Maada Bio.
