While thanking the Diaspora for making extra effort to come home and register, President Koroma cautioned that the 2018 general elections would be crucial for the nation and the APC because it’s a transition. He admonished all to work hard to ensure that the party remains in power come 2018, and underscored the importance and seriousness of the forthcoming elections. “We should not allow pettiness in this business – it is very serious and we have to treat it with all seriousness,” he emphasized.
On behalf of the APC Germany chapter, Zainab Kabia thanked President Koroma for his tireless efforts in the ongoing transformation of Sierra Leone. Mustapha Koroma of the UK/Ireland branch commended the president for doing more for the Diaspora. He said before now, Sierra Leoneans living in the diaspora had no intention of coming back home. But during President Koroma’s tenure, a good number had returned home and more are yearning to come, due to ongoing development trajectory of the country. Dr Alieu Badara Kabia from China commended President Koroma for his excellent and astute leadership shown over the years, and Madam Lilian Conteh from Norway described the leadership of President Koroma as unique. “Being in Norway for 37 years, I am highly impressed over the country’s development under President Koroma,” she said, and added that she was proud to be a Sierra Leonean.
Madam Zainab Sheriff Bangura on behalf of Friends of Zainab Bangura donated 100 Public Address System (mega phones) to the party secretariat for the ongoing registration exercise. Giving the vote of thanks, chairlady of USA branch Mariama Low Bangura vowed to be dedicated and loyal to the party and its leadership. She presented a globe to President Koroma inscribed on it “World’s Best President.”
