President to meet Hajj victims tomorrow

“…the meeting has been slated for Tuesday the 29th of August at 4PM, as a responsible government, we have lots of report about the Hajj-2017 process being compromised and the people involved were given medical forms to undertake their various health status, they were also given the opportunity to buy what we call the ‘arshorby’ and eventually they couldn’t make it to the Holy City.” Abdulai Bayraytay added.

He stated that the aggrieved people travelled across the country just to perform the Hajj with the assurance that they would be given the government scholarship, pointing out that the scholarship was meant for those that wanted to fulfil the fifth pillars of Islam but did not have the financial power to do so.

He emphasized that President Koroma being a responsible father of the nation, has major concern and being a tolerant religious leader, President Koroma since he assumed office in 2007, has been providing scholarship to underprivileged Muslims that could not afford the cost to complete the last pillar of Islam, adding that the President had taken the bold step to sack the three key members in the Hajj committee and they are subject to the Anti Corruption Commission investigations.

The concerned officials are Alhaji M.A.Bah, Minister of State, Alhaji Sheka Kamara, special assistant on social affairs and Alhaji Nurudeen Sankoh, special assistant on political affairs.

Abdulai Bayraytay stated that the president as a father of the nation would now engage those that are affected and chat the way the forward to salvage the situation.
