The ceremony was witnessed by representatives from the civil society, Office of National Security, Ministry of Works Housing and Infrastructure, Ministry of Justice, Chiefs, and Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) personnel.
Several representatives made relevant submissions during the ceremony. The representative of the Ministry of Justice, Ibrahim Jalloh admonished the beneficiaries to be appreciative of whatsoever little they receive from the government as compensation, noting that the proposed developmental would be of direct benefit not only to the government but to them as residents. In his statement, the National Coordinator, Road for Development- Sierra Leone, Philip Lansana  said road construction is a key aspect of development and called on the residents to be vigilant in making sure that the roads are well monitored. He also urged them to report any incident that has to do with the up keeping of the roads to the elders in the chiefdom or district.
Receiving the compensation, several beneficiaries expressed gratitude to government, Â whilst noting that this is the first time they witnessing such a kind gesture from government.

In response, the Paramount Chief of Konikie Barrina Chiefdom, Makali Town, Tonkolili District, Alhaji Alimamy Sorie II, expressed thanks and appreciations to the government and SLRA for the good job, but however called on them to help them in the construction of feeder roads and drainages within the township of Makali.
