Sierra Leone’s Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah has revealed a new national peace campaign titled: “Salone Big Pass We All”.
The Campaign he said is geared towards raising awareness of nationalism and patriotism and seeks to put the nation first and above anything else.
In a similar development, the minister has assuranced government’s efforts to mitigate the impact of increased airport taxes and commitment to reducing ticket prices despite the recent tax hike.
Addressing concerns over the escalated airport taxes, Minister Bah said the new airport expansion is a strategic investment aimed at attracting more international flights to Sierra Leone. Notably, he mentioned the imminent commencement of operations by several airlines, with Ethiopia Airlines being a prominent player.
Acknowledging the current tax increase’s effect on ticket prices, Minister Bah assured the public of the government’s diligent endeavors to alleviate these financial burdens. The minister reiterated the government’s dedication to making travel more affordable for citizens and visitors alike.
The statement from the Ministry of Information and Civic Education signifies a proactive approach by the government to balance the economic impact of airport tax increments with initiatives focused on enhancing air travel accessibility and affordability in Sierra Leone.
