The Seray Kabba Children Empowerment Foundation has contributed to the development of education in Sierra Leone by donating books, uniforms and other school materials to 250 children within the Magazine Cut community, east of Freetown.
According to the Founder of the Foundation, Seray Kabba, the Foundation was founded in 2018 by herself in the United States of America.
She said her goal is to enhance the Global Goal of facilitating the promotion and development of the child’s personality, talent and mental and physical abilities to their fullest potential.
She added that empowering children to become role models for their communities and to find inspiration that will shape the city’s future to benefit everyone to shape a better future for themselves through leadership, community involvement and mutual support.
Explaining the organisation’s vision, Mrs. Kabba said: “We believe in a just and safe world where power and possibility are not limited by gender, race, class, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or age”, adding: “We believe that equity and inclusion are the cornerstones of a true democracy in which the worth and dignity of every person are valued”.
She went on that they also believe in holding themselves responsible and accountable for all that they say in order to build an aligned, principled and powerful movement for gender equity.
“We believe in the truth that comes from those we work with and those most impacted by the issues affecting their communities. We believe in honoring their voices and supporting their leadership” Seray concluded.
