The Sierra Leone Police held its usual press conference at Police Headquarters to intimate the press about Police operations and current security-related happenings in the country.
Director of Operations, AIG Mohamed Braima-Jah gave an overview of the security situation since the commencement of the multi-tier elections’ campaign across the country.
He stated that the general security in the country is relatively calm and quiet with few incidents reported of crimes, noting that they are under investigations.
He further assured all and sundry that the SLP is ready and capable to provide an enabling environment for all citizens to exercise their franchise.
Stating that two key elements of democracy are political tolerance and the rule of law for peaceful coexistence. He encouraged all citizens to work within the confines of the law as the SLP is always vigilant to provide the required security and deal with any lawless individual as we approach the general elections on June 24, 2023.
