Sierra Leone has witnessed significant development in its mining sector, under President Dr. Julius Maada Bio’s visionary leadership. The recent inauguration ceremony of the 12 MPTA (Million Metric Tons per Annum) Processing Plant and Locomotive Infrastructure signifies a significant milestone in Sierra Leone’s quest to revitalise its mining industry.
During the commissioning event, attended by dignitaries including Paramount Chiefs and other protocols, First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio highlighted President Bio’s pivotal visit to China, where key discussions with Chinese leaders and mining executives laid the foundation for the developments witnessed today.
The First Lady emphasised the importance of the Community Development Agreement (CDA) fund, particularly in empowering women and fostering community development. She also lauded President Bio’s efforts for education, exemplified by the implementation of free, quality education initiatives, aimed at empowering the next generation, “President Bio my husband is truly the best President we have ever seen since our Independence…“ She Said.
In his keynote address, President Dr. Julius Maada Bio highlighted Sierra Leone’s vast potential and conducive investment environment, praising the peaceful coexistence among its people. He urged collaboration between workers, tribal authorities, and the community to leverage these opportunities for collective progress and prosperity.
