SIS VIC provides educational support

35 children from selected schools received cash support that will go directly towards the payment of annual school fees, school uniforms and books. A colorful ceremony was held at Percival Street on Wednesday 13th April 2016.

Chairman for the Board, Peter Kaindeneh said they Trust Fund was formed in order to ensure that the beneficiaries stay in school and treat their educational pursuit with all seriousness to attain success in life. He admonished parents to support their children in their studies so that the support would not go in vain.

The beneficiaries are privileged to have been selected to receive the award because the meet certain characterizes and behavior that are required, such as: regular attendance in school, grades kept at pass level, being courteous and helpful to one another, and must always be their best in all they do.

Four beneficiaries in last year’s award were removed due to nonperformance, and are being replaced by four new intakes. 

Sheku Tunkara, an SSS III Commercial pupil of the Peninsular Senior Secondary School at Waterloo emerged as the best and thereby received an extra support from the Trust Fund.

Other speakers like Ami Dumbuya of MASADA, Henry Macauley Junior underscored the importance of education and called on the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunities accorded them. The distribution of scholarship packages climaxed the event.
