Speaking at the ceremony, the Country Director Child Fund Sierra Leone, Mr. Billy Abimbilla said he was happy to hand over the school building to the people of Fadugu, which came as a result of the fire incident that destroyed the building down and left the pupils with no conducive learning environment.
Mr. Abimbilla added that the building can only be called school when pupils are attending and teachers are teaching, and therefore called on stakeholders to ensure parents send their children to school. He pleaded with the community people to take ownership and protect the buildings from any future fire occurrences. Mr. Abimbilla promised another three toilet facilities to ease the sanitation problems faced by the school.  Â
Mr. L. B. Marah, who represented the Deputy Director of Education in Koinadugu, expressed joy and gratitude for the development, this he said: “is a boost in the education sector”.
Mr. Marah stated that all 100 teachers that were sent from Koinadugu to the Ministry of Education got approval, which is an indication that the Government is heading for quality education in the country. He pleaded with parents to send their children to school and monitor their education.
But the most shocking revelation came from the Paramount Chief, PC Lamina Roman BaroWerry III of Kasunko Chiefdom who intimated his audience that his chiefdom is yet to produce a UNIVERSITY GRADUATE that is a woman. He challenged the current crop of school going girls to make history by defeating the mith and become the first like Obama in the United States.
He expressed appreciation and gratitude to Child Fund Sierra Leone for their continued support to his chiefdom and assured the NGO’s Director of his support towards the school.
The Paramount Chief encouraged his subjects to send their children to school with emphasis on girls.     Â
Councilor BallayMansaray of Kasunko Chiefdom recalled the day of the fire incident in the school as devastating. She thanked both DAINDEMBEH Federation and Child Fund for rebuilding the school and finally stressed that parents send their kids to school.
The cutting of the tape and a conducted tour of the building climaxed the ceremony.     Â
