SLAA promotes education

 Principal of Ansarul Junior Secondary School, Alusine Bangura stated that since the school was established in 1974 and became the first secondary school in Rotifunk Lungi, the school has never received kind gesture from anyone outside and inside Lungi community, he noted. He further expressed gratitude to the Sierra Leone AirPort Authority for their gesture directed to support and empower education in the Lungi community.

Bangura confirmed that the academic output of their pupils has been dropped significantly over the years; however, he noted that since the appointment of the new board members and new executives everything has change, as the school has already recovered it past glories.

He acknowledged that the Sierra Leone Airport Authority has been meeting their corporate social responsibility commitment towards the school since the appointment of the new general manger who happened to be a son of the soil

Bangura further encouraged his current pupils to see their senior fellow ex–pupils that are present at the ceremony as their mentor and role model, owning to the fact that the phenomenon of the people of Kafubullom being nothing but fishermen is dead and gone. He further pleaded to the management of SLAA to provide three classrooms that will accommodate the school science department,  as he out rightly stated that at the moment the school is without a science wing.

Chairperson of the SLAA board Elvis Kargbo expressed appreciation to all officials of Sierra Leone Port Authority , he furthered stated that the reason behind the donation is to empower education in that part of the country, he affirmed  that there nothing one can boast  of in the future rather education, as he cautioned the pupils to look after the donated furniture, he mentioned that the donation was  not only coming from SLAA but also  from the first gentle man of  the Republic of Sierra Leone Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma. 

General Manger SLAA expressed delight toward the school as he confirmed that he is a product of the school, following the request made by the principal for the three classrooms he stated that they would address that as soon as possible, he cautioned the pupils to give all their attention to their studies adding that education is the only thing that can change and better their lives.   

To climax the event, SLAA Board Chairman, Elvis Kargbo officially handed the donated chairs and tables to the school authority on behalf of the SLAA.

The school pupils expressed gratitude towards the officials of SLAA by presented gifts to them.
